@San: thanks. The pic is a bit flat & less interesting or challenging than others I posted, but I like it more than I expected to, so I thought I could post it!
Don't worry San, I understand. 'Flat' composition is not a bad thing at all. Look at Charvet's or even Cézanne's best still lives and you will see that they are often fully frontal. This one is almost like a Flemish still life by comparison!
I like simplicity & readability a lot. On this blog, I try to challenge myself a wee bit, though, and I try things which are different from what I would be inclined to do, typically. That's what I meant in my comment. I think the pic is made more interesting by the fact the label is overexposed (deleting unnecessary information and given the picture a different light) and the very limited depth of field.
Et bien, on ne s'ennuie pas à ce que je vois ;)

ReplyDelete@ Stela Alves:
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words, Stela!
@Hannah: I agree fully! I barely drink alcohol but do make an exception for Champagne.
ReplyDeleteI was serious, David. I definitely like the composition. Remember, I'm still figuring out how to take still lifes.
